Red Cropped Pants

Is it Friday yet???

I love these red cropped pants. They're so bright, and I love it like that. They're also very comfortable. They were tucked away in my closet for some time now, so I decided to pull them out and give them a go. I toned down the brightness a bit with a black shirt, belt, and shoes, and added this cascading pearl necklace. The sleeve length of the shirt was a bit long, so I turned up the cuffs, although I think I may have turned them up too much. But who's looking, right? The next time I wear these pants, I think I may go for a splash of color, because I started to feel "blah" in all this black. I'm not sure what color as yet, but suggestions are welcomed.

Anyway, is it Friday yet?!?!

The Greatness of a Tank

What's greater than an item that can be used for work and going out? An item that can be used in different seasons. That's the case with today's ruffled tank. I showcased this number earlier in the year when I spoke about making your wardrobe serve dual roles, here. That was in winter, and now that it is warmer, I'm wearing the tank sans the cardigan. Tanks are great choices for this purpose. They are excellent for layering and can also be worn by itself and still look effortlessly chic. I'm a sucker for a tank and skinny jeans, a tank and a skirt, and a tank and shorts. I guess I'm just a sucker for tanks in general!

Styling tip: Notice the belt? Something about the waist of the skirt didn't seem right when I tucked in the tank. The waist band seamed a bit too broad. A quick fix was to add a belt to break up the outfit and to add some visual interest. You might have remembered me doing something like this here. Back then, it was because there wasn't a defined skirt waist. This time, it was because there was too much of a defined skirt waist....at least in my opinion.

TGIF! Have a great weekend, everyone!
