Red Hot

My sister and niece were recently here in Dallas visiting for two and a half weeks, and in that time, we did some much needed retail therapy. Now that it's over, it's time to assess my purchases and do some damage control.

I found these Madden Girl red patent pumps by Steve Madden in Burlington Coat Factory, and I fell in love. How could I pass on this when the detail on the shoes are so cute, and it's just the perfect height? Can't wait to give them a test run :)

I personally think that every woman should have at least one pair of red shoes. Whether it's a red flat, red pumps, or red slingbacks, it's a wardrobe staple...no exceptions! What better way to keep it classy?!

What Not to Wear

(Video by littlekakau)

"What Not to Wear" is back with Season 9! Woohoo!

One of my all time favourite shows is TLC's What Not to Wear. Style gurus Stacy London and Clinton Kelly are THE best. I started watching them while in my senior year in college, and I must say, I blame them for further fueling my shopping addiction. But that's not such a bad thing, right?

Persons are nominated by their friends and family to be featured on the show, but these aren't your ordinary people. These are people that need an extreme fashion intervention. They are followed by cameras for two weeks capturing them in their worst fashion moments. Then, they are later ambushed by their friends, family, and the What Not to Wear crew and given a $5000 What Not to Wear credit card where they are sponsored a shopping trip to New York City. The catch is that they have to give up their wardrobes to Stacy and Clinton and shop by their rules in New York. A $5000 shopping spree in The Big Apple??? Ummm yeah!!! I would gladly do it in a heart beat!

Some people may not always agree with the choices that Stacy and Clinton make, but the whole point is not necessarily to wear exactly what they tell you to, but rather to learn from their style tips and apply it to everyday life. Actually, after watching them regularly, I learned how to shop for my size, and it inspired my Back to Basics: Know Your Size post. One of the stores that they frequent is Macy's, and I sometimes secretly wish they would ambush me while shopping. Ahh, if only!

I'm so excited for the new season. I've already set my DVR to record the marathon. The new season airs tomorrow, Tuesday, on TLC at 9/8c.

Happy shopping everyone!
